Third Hand Secretarial Service Receives Prestigious Certification

Linda Siniscal, president of Third Hand Secretarial Service, Point Pleasant, recently earned the Certified Bookkeeper (CB) designation from the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers (AIPB).

/Accounting PR News/ - NEW JERSEY, November 15, 2007 -- Linda Siniscal, president of Third Hand Secretarial Service, Point Pleasant, recently earned the Certified Bookkeeper (CB) designation from the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers (AIPB).

To achieve this certification, Ms. Siniscal had to demonstrate the proficiency required to handle the bookkeeping responsibilities for any company with up to 100 employees. In addition, the CB certification required that she pass a national examination in advanced bookkeeping, have at least 3,000 hours (2 years) of on-the-job bookkeeping experience, and sign a Code of Ethics that assures her commitment to the highest levels of integrity and trust in dealing with her clients. She also must keep her certification current and active by earning an additional 20 Continuing Education (CE) credits each year.

In commenting on this achievement, Ms. Siniscal stated, "I am pleased to be able to offer my clients the higher level of knowledge and service that the Certified Bookkeeper designation affords me. This certification provides me with the credibility I need to better serve my current bookkeeping clients and to attract new clients who may need this type of assistance."

AIPB's certification program is the first and only national standard for bookkeeping in the United States. Companies who use a Certified Bookkeeper are assured that the CB is able to find and correct accounting errors in their books, run the company's payroll, maximize depreciation expenses for taxes and financial statements, record and cost out inventory according to standard methods, help avoid costly losses from employee, vendor or customer theft and fraud and produce the data needed to ensure accurate financial statements and tax returns.

Ms. Siniscal founded Third Hand Secretarial Service in 1994. A 25-year veteran in the administrative support/executive assistant arena, Ms. Siniscal has parlayed her corporate experience into a very successful virtual assistant (VA) business with an impressive client base that includes accountants, psychologists, professional speakers, business and life coaches, training organizations, non-profit corporations, and many other small businesses.

Ms. Siniscal is a member of the International Virtual Assistants Association (IVAA) and is currently serving a three-year term as the organization's Treasurer. She is also a member the National Association of Women Business Owners - Central Jersey Chapter, for which she serves as database manager. In addition to the CB certification, Ms. Siniscal holds the following certifications: State of NJ Women's Business Enterprise (WBE); State of NJ Small Business Enterprise (SBE); and State of NJ Notary Public. As a Certified QuickBooks Pro Advisor, Ms. Siniscal offers QuickBooks bookkeeping support for both PC and MAC-based computer environments.
