1040's, Wine & Tea Parties

The perfect way to celebrate the end of the tax season? With the perfect wine, of course - 1040FU!

CALABASAS, CA, December 17, 2009 /Accounting PR News/ -- Today, 1040FU announced immediate availability of its new wine label 1040FU. 1040FU is wine for thought. Think of it as a thought stimulus package for taxpayers, tax preparers and politicians.

There used to be a time when you almost felt good paying your taxes. Now you feel like 'great, that will be wasted by the government.' And does your government thank you for paying those taxes? Quite the opposite. So breakout a great bottle of 1040FU among friends to stimulate a lively discussion of what the government should spend those tax dollars on.

Tax Preparers need the FU stimulus too. Remember Kung Fu? FU refers to the possession of superior skills like David Carradine had. FU more aptly applies to the technology field, especially computer related. Hopefully your tax preparer has good FU skills to combat the government's ever increasing FU!

And yes Politicians* especially need FU! Remember "of the people, by the people and for the people"? Then why do politicians have their own health plan and their own version of Social Security? 1040FU is the reminder on the wine list that wine can taste very bitter in November.

To help provoke the world to discuss this unfortunate state & discuss alternatives we have a unique new wine to further the case (sp? cause). 1040FU is wine for thought and discussion. It's our tea party calling for taxation with representation!

Sincerely www.1040FU.com

*Warning - Politicians should not pair 1040FU with pork. Please vote and spend responsibly.

About 1040FU

1040FU is a 2008 Santa Barbara Syrah that has shown special appeal to CPA's, Tax Preparers and to tax payers who pay 36.9% (39.6% in 2010) or more in taxes to the Federal Government. Have you ever paid your taxes and then been made by society to feel just a little bit unclean? Have you ever prepared a tax return where your client paid less than 50% of his total income in taxes and you felt guilt? Have you ever felt that the Stimulus money should be spent more wisely? If so, then you will definitely appreciate this wine.

What is FU?

The Story Behind 1040 FU
Lively debates of politics and taxes are as American as a Napa Cabernet. So we set out to create a wine that would inspire and complement the kind of discourse that frequently crops up during tax season and election years. The label was approved only after more than a year of submissions to the US Department of Treasury, Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) . Our first effort directly quoted various tax pronouncements from both www.whitehouse.gov and the President of the United States. There was also mention of the Internal Revenue Service. That label was summarily dismissed by the United States government - one mustn't imply that the President or the White House or the IRS endorses the wine.

After many rewrites and frequent consultation with a gifted attorney (now working with a well-known pharmaceutical company and eschewing credit for fear of lifelong audits), we arrived at the wording you see here. Apparently the federal government still has some reservations. One concern is "simulation of a government form" (apparently, being pasted to a bottle doesn't make it clear that this is a label, not a form). Another is "simulation of a government agency". They may have us there as the "Department of Socialism" is mentioned on the label, perhaps we stumbled onto something here?

Don't be surprised if this great wine, which appeals equally to conservatives and liberals, inspires a spirited discussion among your friends. It goes best with gentle sarcasm and foolhardy opinions such as changing the tax code, taxing the wealthy, entrepreneurship in America, and the need for a good CPA. We hope you enjoy drinking it as much as we have enjoyed making it.

2008 1040FU Santa Barbara County Syrah
The 2008 Santa Barbara County Syrah was sourced from three distinct vineyards: Camp 4 (40%), Tierra Alta (30%), and Colson Canyon (30%). The Camp 4 brings in bright notes of raspberry, red stone fruits, and earth while the Tierra Alta introduces a deep, jammy core of black fruits and berries. The Colson pulls it all together with just the right hints of chocolate, minerals, smoked meats and a streak of tannins to balance it all out. Drink this wine now or age it over the next 3 to 5 years.
