Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants Elects Mark Faulkner to Board of Directors

FARMINGTON HILLS, MI, August 28, 2010 /Accounting PR News/ -- The Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA), has announced that Mark Faulkner BBA, MST, CPA has been elected as a new member of its Board of Directors for the 2010-2011 season. The announcement was made by MACPA President and CEO Peggy Dzierzawski, CAE.
Mark Faulkner is a tax director and Deloitte's Michigan Multistate Tax Practice Leader. With more than 18 years of multi-state tax experience, he has been involved with implementing numerous state and local tax planning strategies, performing due diligence reviews related to corporate acquisitions and dispositions, and automating the state and local tax compliance process. He has managed tax audits for a number of states and has negotiated audit settlements relative to those audits.
Prior to joining Deloitte, he was the manager of state and local tax planning for Owens Corning.
A member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), he is also a member of the Illinois Society of Certified Public Accountants and is a licensed CPA in Michigan, Illinois and Ohio.
Mark Faulkner received his BBA in Accounting and Computer Science from Western Illinois University and his MST from DePaul University. He is a resident of Canton.
Other officers appointed to the MACPA Board of Directors include Gregory Nowak, Rochester Hills, chair; John Pridnia, Muskegon, chair-elect; Ramona H. Pearson, Detroit, treasurer; Paul Steih, Ann Arbor, secretary; Jonathan D. Anibal, Commerce Township, immediate past chair; and Thomas H. Beard, Clinton Township, past chair. Newly elected to the MACPA Board of Directors are David Echelbarger, Alto; Lori Kerch, CPA, MSF, Wolverine Lake; and Gary L. Riedlinger, CPA, PFS, Essexville.
