Dennis M. Via has completed post graduate work towards a Masters in Finance at The Johns Hopkins University
GILBERT, AZ, November 5, 2010 /Accounting PR News/ -- Dennis M. Via, Chief Financial Officer for Lapre Scali & Company Insurance Services, LLC (Lapre Scali) has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in insurance and financial services.
With 30 years of professional experience, Mr. Via has a significant Big 4 public accounting background and has acquired insurance expertise in Life, P&C and Agency / Brokerage operations at the carrier and agency levels. For the last year, he has been employed as the Chief Financial Officer with Lapre Scali. His responsibilities include directing finance and accounting operations and assisting the CEO in agency management and strategy execution, including mergers and acquisitions.
Mr. Via spent 11 years in Big 4 public accounting servicing a variety of industries, public and private. He spent 16 years working for Zurich Insurance Company in varied executive capacities, including CFO of a carrier subsidiary. He lived and worked for 3 years in Switzerland at Zurich's worldwide headquarters. He has been CFO of insurance agencies the last 6 years.
Mr. Via is a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting with a minor in Finance. He earned a CPA certificate and is also an FLMI. He has completed post graduate work towards a Masters in Finance at The Johns Hopkins University and has attended various Management and Executive Development Programs at Kellogg Northwestern. He has held numerous board positions in various civic organizations including a former ten year affiliation with the National Aquarium in Baltimore.
