Carl Maxey Phillips, EA, tax expert, statistician and inventor

    COOKEVILLE, TN, March 9, 2010 /Accounting PR News/ -- Carl Maxey Phillips, EA, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in accounting services.

A recognized authority on tax preparation, planning and representation, Carl Maxey Phillips, EA has led an impressive career spanning over 30 years. After earning a bachelor of arts at Jacksonville State University in 1973, he went on to earn a master of arts at the University of Alabama and a master of science at Jacksonville State University. After earning an associate of applied science, he joined the Alabama Department of Industrial Relations in the Research and Statistics Division, where he remained for three years. Shortly afterwards, he began his career in tax services as a revenue examiner for the Alabama Department of Revenue. Since then, he has held several notable positions with H & R Block such as research departmental head, tax consultant, instructor level II and out of state specialist. Currently, Mr. Phillips provides his tax services on a consulting basis. He has been in private practice for nearly 20 years.

Mr. Phillips is an Enrolled Agent with the Internal Revenue Service. He is also a statistician and an inventor, having created the world's first inexpensive teaching machine in 1973, and a contributor for "The Book of Lists #2," which was published by William Morrow and Company in 1980. For his professional excellence, Mr. Phillips has received multiple recognitions including nomination for the title of Bishop N. Barron State Employee of the Year. He also received a letter of appreciation from the Alabama Emergency Management Agency and a fellowship from the National Tax Practice Institute.
